June 14, 2016: These 2 aspects of performance—productivity and accountability—will continue to play off each other in the shift from fee-for-service-based payment to value-based payment in health care. The move toward value-based models, however, makes it a challenge for physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) to know what productivity expectations are, much less how to meet them.
